The Acting Minister of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs emphasizes on cooperation and coordination between the institutions of the people with disabilities and the Ministry
On February 23, 2021 Professor Hamidullah Farooqi the Acting Minister for Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs meets with the chair an and members of the Afghanistan Disabled People's Advocacy Committee to discuss how to eliminate discrimination between people with disabilities, finalize the law, find employment, provide transparency and Corruption.
At the beginning Samiul Haq Sami the chairman of the Afghanistan Disability Advocacy Committee says the Disability Advocacy Committee will support the ministry's reform programs and will work in coordination with the ministry's new leadership. He adds that the Appeals Committee expects that existing laws on persons with disabilities should be amended and enforced in accordance with the International Convention on the rights of people with disabilities. Also, he mentions that there is discrimination in the existing laws between different types of disabled people.
Hamidullah Farooqi Acting Minister for Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs while welcoming the sharing of views and demands of the members of the committee members, he states that it is understandable to everyone that people with disabilities face a variety of inconveniences. To eliminate and reduce this challenges and bring reforms, it is necessary to change the administrative culture which changing this culture requires cooperation and coordination.
During the meeting, Mr. Farooqi emphasizes that discrimination between people with disabilities is still unacceptable and that corruption in the administration and paperwork in the administration is not acceptable and that he is constantly working to eliminate this phenomenon, so efforts are going on to provide better situation.
Mr. Farooqi also mentions the increase in the participation of people with disabilities in government departments and promises that they will make every effort to implement the existing laws and procedures.
