National Paralympic Committee is supported and strengthened
Hamidullah Farooqi the Acting Minister for Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs met with chairman and members of Afghan National Paralympic Committee and persisted on need to further support and strengthen of National Paralympic Committee.
Abdul Hussain Hessari the administrative deputy and acting of National Paralympic Committee first spoke about the general situation of committee and said that this committee was established in 2003 and in 2005 it obtain the global membership of National Paralympic Committee. The committee has participated in four world competitions and four Asian competitions. He stated that the committee had technical and educational problems as well as other issues and wanted to pay attention.
Moreover, Professor Farooqi the Acting Minister for Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs appreciated the activities and achievements of this committee and said that the problems and challenges of athletes are understandable. But with all these limitations, they bring proud fro Afghanistan and in sports fields they have shown exceptional capabilities and capacities. He added that athletes represent national unity and are respected and for all of us.
During the meeting Mr. Farooqi emphasized that the Government of Afghanistan pays special attention to the heirs of the martyrs and people with disabilities and the independence of the Ministry definitely shows this. He promised that the ministry will be constantly ready to serve and provide situations for more talent to flourish.
Consequently, the Acting of Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled Affairs ordered to the relevant departments to establish a specific mechanism for further coordination and support the National Paralympic Committee and to act based on that.
